NEC Electronics Receives Intel’s Prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement Award
KAWASAKI, Japan, SANTA CLARA, Calif. and DUESSELDORF, Germany, March 25, 2003 — NEC Electronics Corporation and its subsidiaries in the United States and Europe, NEC Electronics America, Inc. and NEC Electronics (Europe) GmbH, today announced the company was named a recipient of Intel Corporation’s prestigious 2002 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award for outstanding commitment to quality and performance by suppliers that provide products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success. The company was given the award for its efforts in supplying Intel with ASIC, low-power SRAM and pseudo SRAM products. NEC Electronics and 12 additional SCQI award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame, California on March 26. “NEC Electronics has provided Intel with superior ASIC and SRAM support for both new SCSP product introductions and for high-volume manufacturing,” said Suresh Sachdev, general manager, Intel IC Procurement and Materials Enabling Division. “This award is a testimony of NEC Electronics’ quality, technology and service support.”
“NEC Electronics is highly honored to receive again the prestigious SCQI award from Intel,” said Toshio Nakajima, senior vice president, NEC Electronics Corporation, and president and CEO, NEC Electronics America, Inc. “With the launch of NEC Electronics Corporation last year, this award clearly demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing our customers with superior products and support.”
The SCQI awards are part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process, which encourages Intel’s key suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Additional information about the SCQI program is available at http://supplier.intel.com/quality/.
Intel also will recognize SCQI award winners today with an advertisement in the United States, European and Asian editions of the Wall Street Journal.
