New high-speed couplers for 10Mbit/s.

Düsseldorf, 01 September 2003 – NEC Electronics (Europe) presents two new high-speed couplers for 10 Mbit/s. They are suitable for DC/DC converters, measurement equipment, motor-control and many other applications in rough industrial environment. Both couplers offer a minimum common mode transient immunity (CM) of 10kV/µs and typical values of 20kV/µs. The PS9114 features an open collector output, allowing flexible circuit design. The PS9115 has totem pole output, offering shorter propagation delay times (max 65 ns at 25 degrees Celsius).

The maximum pulse width distortion |tPHL - tPLH| of each type is less than 50 ns, typical values are about 3 ns (PS9114) respectively 7 ns (PS9115) only.

The couplers require a typical supply voltage Vcc at detector side of 5 V (max 7V). The isolation voltage for both types is 2500 V r.m.s.

Each of the new couplers is available in a 5-pin super small outline package (SSOP), with a minimum pin to pin distance of 1.27 mm, allowing space saving designs. These small packages offer a temperature resistance up to 260 degrees Celsius.

Various international safety certificates are available.

The couplers are obtainable in two versions. The PS9114 respectively PS9115 are especially suitable for soldering with lead, the PS9114-A and PS9115-A are designed for lead-free soldering.
