Latest NLT panels from NEC offer high visibility in diverse ambient conditions

Dedicated NEC distributor Sunrise Electronics has just announced that it has now added a new 5.5 inch transflective display to its extensive range of colour TFT modules from NEC.

Designed for use in a broad range of applications, the new NL3224BC35-22 is a 14cm diagonal (5.5inch) LCD with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels (Quarter VGA) and capable of displaying up to 262,144 colours. This digital display uses 6-bit digital RGB signals plus sync and clock inputs.

The new module features a high contrast ratio, wide viewing angle (65° L or R, 40° up and 65° down) and very high brightness. It has two built in backlights designed for significantly longer life and simple replacement, giving a high luminance of up to 600cd/m2 in transmissive mode. Together with its reflectance of 2.0%, this display is suitable for equipment used in environments with wide ranging ambient lighting conditions.

The transflective LCD panel is based on a combination of NEC's advanced transmissive and reflective LCD technologies and results in well-balanced features for both modes. A transflective display with both high transmissivity and high reflectivity delivers a high quality display under both low light and bright light (outdoor) conditions and is known as NLT (Natural light technology).
