NEC Electronics Europe launches EPOS & PC Peripheral expert solution team

DUESSELDORF (Germany), February 1, 2007 — NEC Electronics Europe announces the launch of a new solution team aimed to address the EPOS & PC Peripheral electronics market through its dedicated solutions and innovative technologies. The introduction of this team complements the existing expert solutions teams (Building Management, Motor Control, Industrial Automation and Healthcare) within the Industrial & Distribution Business Group (IDBG).

EPOS (Electronic Point Of Sale/Service) is an electronic terminal/ module used to process commercial transactions. These are also widely used to provide information and services for applications such as kiosks, digital signage, billboards etc. In the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) segment of this market, NEC Electronics’ ASIC, 8-, 16- and 32-bit microcontroller families provide the processing power & flexibility that design engineers require to build differentiated EPOS applications.
