Now 10.4 inch TFT panel from Sunrise has daylight viewing

Latest NEC LVDS panel offers high contrast, high luminance and anti-reflective coating

Dedicated NEC distributor Sunrise Electronics has just announced that it is now shipping a new daylight viewable version of its high luminance, high contrast 10.4 inch display from NEC Electronics. It is mechanically compatible with previous displays in the same screen size, allowing developers to enhance system performance or upgrade equipment without changing mechanical design.

Featuring NEC’s NLT** (transflective) technology together with a new antiglare polarizing surface, the new NL6448BC33-63C from NEC is a 10.4 inch panel with the industry standard resolution of 640 x 480 pixels and can display in either 16,777,216 (8-bit input) or 262,144 colours (6-bit). This makes it suitable for industrial applications such as control panels or information systems.

The NL6448BC33-63C has a wide viewing angle of 80º (side-side) 80º (up) and 60º (down). Two replaceable high efficiency cold-cathode fluorescent lamps are used for backlighting and give it a high luminance of 450 candelas per metre squared (cd/m2). This panel has a very high contrast ratio of 600:1 which together with the antiglare surface makes it suitable for use under a wide range of ambient lighting conditions.

Input is via the industry standard LVDS digital interface, with 8bit or 6-bit digital data for RGB colours plus dot clock and data enable signals. Response time is fast at 25ms (T_on + T_off).

Operating over the extended temperature range of -20 to +70º C, wider than previous types, these panels are suitable for a wide range of applications such as industrial PC, monitors in process control and display terminals for control or information systems.
