NEC Electronics Europe introduces 32-bit
microcontroller demonstration kit
DUESSELDORF (Germany), February 10, 2006 — Following the
launch of the new V850 All Flash 32-bit microcontrollers, NEC Electronics is
pleased to announce a dedicated demonstration kit, EB-V850ES/HG2, which is also
now available to support this product range. V850 All Flash brings you three
microcontroller families comprising a total of 23 new 32-bit devices, offering
29 MIPS performance from a V850ES RISC core combined with up to 640K of embedded
Flash memory, up to 48K of RAM and an abundance of general purpose peripherals.
The range includes a 5V family with up to 24 A/D channels (V850ES/Hx2), a high
performance low voltage line-up (V850ES/Jx2) and dedicated motor control devices
(V850ES/Ix2).
The V850 All Flash 32-bit microcontroller range is ideally suited to both
entry-level and next-generation 32-bit designs, and this new demonstration kit
is ideally suited to exploiting 32-bit functionality in our customer’s next
application without delay.
The EB-V850ES/HG2 V850 All Flash Demonstration Kit provides
on-board debugging, Flash programming and the real-time execution of application
programs, making it ideal for the development of simple applications as well as
the demonstration of V850 32-bit microcontrollers’ capabilities. With its
easy-to-use device demonstration capabilities, it is comfortable to evaluate
input and output functions such as push buttons, 7-segment LED outputs, A/D
reference voltages, I/O lines, analog inputs, serial interfaces and much more.
The board is also ready-prepared for all I/O ports to be connected to user
hardware for more application-specific evaluation.
The demonstrations kit’s on-board debug function allows
Flash programming and standard debug functionality such as code execution,
single stepping, software breakpoints and memory manipulation without the need
to connect to additional hardware. It is also easy to connect the kit to NEC
Electronics’ low-cost MINICUBE emulator to take advantage of the on-chip debug
features of the device itself.
The demonstration kit comes complete with NEC Electronics’
FPL Flash programming software, an appetizer version of the IAR Systems Embedded
Workbench and C-SPY debugger. All of this plus the inclusion of a USB cable
enables up and running functionality in no time, without the need for an
external power supply! More details can be found under
