Sunrise supports new designs with two 8.4in VGA LCD

NEC extends temperature range on VGA and NLT displays for Industrial Use

Dedicated distributor Sunrise Electronics has just announced the availability of two new versions of its successful 8.4inch series of LCD modules from NEC that offer extended temperature ranges making them ideal for industrial applications.

Both types offer industry standard VGA resolution of 640 x 480 pixels in 262, 144 colours. They feature the extended operating temperature range of -20 to +70º C, and storage temperature range of -30 to +80º C, making them suitable for a wide range of applications such as monitors in process control and display terminals for control or information systems.

The first new model is the NL6448BC26-09 which has a high contrast ratio of 600:1 and a high luminance of 450cd/m2 using two replaceable cold cathode edge lights. The second new model, the NL6448BC26-09C has the additional feature of NEC’s NLT transflective technology. This model has the enhanced luminance of 750cd/m² and contrast ratio of 600:1 which together with its anti-reflective coating makes it suitable for use under even the most extreme viewing conditions.

Both types offer wide viewing angles of 80º from the normal (left and right) 80º up and 60º down and a response time (t_on + t_off) of 25ms. The industry standard interface uses 6-bit digital (CMOS) input signals.

Sunrise can provide design-in support and advice on interface modules for all the display panels it offers. The extensive range of NEC active-matrix thin film technology (TFT) flat panel displays for industrial applications ranges from 5.5-inch to 15-inch formats.
