Sunrise 15-inch digital LCD gets smart (if you want!)

NEC panels offer choice of built-in CRT interface or LVDS

Dedicated NEC distributor Sunrise Electronics now offers a choice of high brightness 15-inch digital LCD modules in its extensive range of colour panels from NEC. Developed for use in PC monitors, engineering workstations or as monitors in process control, the latest two models offer a choice between the industry standard LVDS interface or a built in CRT interface board giving a ‘SMART’ solution.

NEC’s NL10276AC30-03L is a 38cm (15 inch) XGA panel that gives 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and can display a full colour image with up to 16,777,216 (16 million) colours simultaneously and with a very wide viewing angle. Built in long-life cold cathode fluorescent lamps provide direct backlighting with an extremely high brightness of 350 candelas per metre squared (cd/m2). High brightness is particularly important to displays used in applications like multimedia kiosks or portable monitors where ambient lighting conditions may vary. This model features a built in CRT interface with automatic recognition of the input from Analogue RGB or synchronous signals (Hsync, Vsyn, composite) making it a ‘Smart’ panel.

For developers building their own driver interface, the NL10276BC30-10 offers similar specifications with an industry standard LVDS (8-bit) interface. It is suitable for a wide range of applications such as industrial PC, display terminals and monitors. This model features an 8bit parallel digital interface and accepts industry standard 8-bit digital data signals plus sync and clock inputs. Sunrise can provide design in support and advice on interface modules.
