SUNRISE SUPPORTS ALL ROUND WIDE VIEWING ANGLE WITH LATEST 15-inch DIGITAL LCD

New LCD panel by NEC combines high brightness with wide viewing angle

Dedicated NEC distributor Sunrise Electronics has just introduced a new high brightness 15-inch digital LCD module in its extensive range of colour TFT panels from NEC. Developed for use in industrial PC monitors, engineering workstations or as monitors in process control, this new panel combines high brightness with very wide viewing angles and an industry standard interface. This panel is compatible with the PSWG recommendations for 15 inch monitors.

NEC’s NL10276BC30-17 is a 38cm (15 inch) XGA panel that gives 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and can display a full colour image with up to 16,777,216 (16 million) colours simultaneously. It has a fast response time (Ton + Toff) of 25ms (typ), a high contrast ratio of 450:1 and supports a very wide viewing angle of 85° from the normal, both left to right and up and down. Four built in long-life cold cathode fluorescent lamps provide direct backlighting with a high brightness of 300 candelas per metre squared (cd/m2). High brightness is particularly important to displays used in applications like control systems or portable monitors where ambient lighting conditions may vary.

Ideal for developers building their own driver systems, the NL10276BC30-17 uses the industry standard LVDS (8-bit) interface and will accept RGB digital data plus dot clock and data enable signals. It is suitable for a wide range of applications such as industrial PC systems, display terminals and monitors. Sunrise can provide design in support and advice on interface modules.

The Panel Standardisation Working Group (PSWG) consists of many of the major monitor suppliers and has established a set of mechanical and electrical requirements. This panel meets the recommendations for 15 inch panels for monitors in terms of mounting and interface requirements.
