Lead-free (RoHS) Regulations

The European Community has introduced a directive restricting the use of hazardous substances RoHS. For Sunrise, the most relevant effect of this will be the need to provide semiconductors in Lead-free variants
  • The purpose of this section is to help you make the change successfully rather than to define the legislation, however if you require more details of the act it is called ‘Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment’ and can be found here n.b. you may need acrobat Asian font pack, see here
  • For a copy of the NEC Lead-free policy click here

All manufacturers of electronic equipment will be planning the changeover to be compliant with the legislation and will therefore have their own plans to achieve this.

Sunrise will be happy to work with you to ensure that order books and stockholding are matched to the changeover dates, consistent with the product availability from NEC and the lead times current at the time. The following information may answer many of your questions but please call your Internal Sales Contact to discuss your specific plans.
