Alarm Control Panel |
- All sensors and access control
functions can be monitored, controlled and programmed from this
unit. The type of microcontroller used will depend on the level of
sophistication required in the system.
- NEC's 8 bit 78K0 , 32bit V850 or
64bit VR series devices offer a solution for any level of
sophistication for this type of application

Access Control Systems |
- Access control systems employ
various methods to provide secure access into buildings such as
pin code, RFID, magnetic strip or smart card. All these methods
require a microcomputer to control the access along with the
necessary I/O to interface to the chosen access medium.
- NEC's 8 bit micro range
(78K0/78K0S) are ideally suited for these applications.

Closed Circuit Television |
-
CCTV is a distributed system that varies in
size and complexity.
-
NEC offers the possibility of providing a
solution to each part of the system. For example, motor control
solutions for the camera positioning system, 8 bit micros for
keyboard, LCD and joystick control and 32 or 64 bit micros for the
multiplexer.
-
In addition various connectivity solutions are
available to bring the system together.

Camera Control |
- Closed circuit television (CCTV)
involves the positioning of one or more cameras. This involves
motorised mechanisms to control the optical zoom and the pan &
tilt of the camera. This mechanism has also to be controlled
remotely. The motors are typically stepper or servo type motors.
- NEC's 8 bit micro range
(78K0/78K0S) with 'motor control' features is ideally suited for

Sounders & Strobes |
- The alarm unit will receive
commands from the Alarm control Panel to activate the alarm. Alarm
units are also required to be tamper proof. This may require
interfaces to analogue and digital signals to detect any attempts
to disable the alarm. It may also be necessary to send the status
of the alarm back to the Alarm Control Panel.
- NEC's 8 bit micro range
(78K0/78K0S) is ideally suited for these applications.

Detectors |
- Detectors for fire, smoke and
light barriers as well as motion, entry detect, glass break and
fire alarm systems are similar in operation which require the same
type of microcomputer. Usually each sensor is part of a complex
system, where individual sensors are interconnected via a serial
communications bus.
- NEC's 8 bit micro range
(78K0/78K0S) is ideally suited for these applications

Automatic Fire Door |
- The closing of a Automatic Fire
Door (AFD) is likely to involve the release of a spring loaded
mechanism. The opening of an AFD will be controlled by a motor.
Commands received from local sensors or remotely from the control
panel will actuate the motor to open the door or actuate the
release mechanism to close the door. In addition to these
mechanisms the controller may have to activate audible and visual
alarms.

(78K0/78K0S) with 'motor control' features is ideally suited for
these applications.
